Archaeologists have discovered several human skeletons from the Late Iron Age near a primary school in Dijon, France, dating back around 2,400 years ago. The unusual upright seated positions of these men indicate they were likely warriors. The discovery was made by experts from the National Institute for Preventive Archaeological Research (Inrap). All of the skeletons were from physically active, healthy men who died at 40 to 60 years old. However, unhealed cut marks on several skeletons indicated violent deaths. During the excavation, archaeologists also discovered a cemetery containing 22 infant burials dating to the first century A.D.
