Tokyo Metropolitan Police are investigating a brazen smash-and-grab in Taito Ward, where approximately 10 kilograms of gold and other valuables were stolen from a parked vehicle while the driver was on his lunch break. The victim, an employee of a precious metal collection and processing company, reported that his car window had been shattered and precious metals left inside had vanished. The stolen haul includes two solid gold ornaments and a large quantity of rings and other jewelry. Tokyo Metropolitan Police is currently reviewing security footage in the area and pursuing the case as a grand theft.
