The anti-monopoly case against Live Nation continues, with the majority of the 40 state and district attorney general plaintiffs continuing their case in court. The Justice Department and a handful of states have accepted settlements with the company, but the majority are pressing forward. The states withdrew their motion for a mistrial after the DOJ announced its settlement. The judge also allowed jurors to see internal chats between Live Nation employees bragging about their "gouging" fans, overruling opposition from the company. The trial is set to resume with testimony from AEG COO Jay Marciano, who was the last witness to be questioned by a DOJ trial lawyer in the case. South Carolina may continue with litigation unless the state reaches an agreement on its monetary demands before then.
