Daredevil: Born Again's second season finale saw an explosive finale featuring a significant reference to the Marvel Comics universe. The show's lead character, Matt Murdock, was put on trial against gangster-turned-politician Wilson Fisk, AKA Kingpin. Murdock's attempt to prove Fisk's guilt over the destruction of the Northern Star led to Murdock bringing on Christofi Savva, the first mate of the ship, to testify against Fisk. However, Fisk fails to convince Daredevil that Fisk will reveal his secret identity, leading to a moment where Daredevil declares "I am Daredevil".
