Councilmember files legislation to make Louisville Transgender Safe Haven City

Louisville Metro Councilman, JP Lyninger, has filed legislation to designate Louisville as a Safe Haven City for people who are transgender and non-conforming. The proposed ordinance would prohibit the use of local resources to detain individuals for seeking gender-affirming healthcare and prevent the Metro Government from sharing information about a person's gender identity with outside governments. The proposal will be discussed at the next Public Safety Committee meeting on April 15.
