A new community garden has been unveiled at Old Montgomery Road in Ellicott City, Maryland, marking the fourth such garden built by the county recreation and parks department in partnership with Columbia Gardeners. The 16.22-acre community space will feature 126 garden plots for Howard County residents to grow fresh produce and flowers, and 25 of the plots will be Americans with Disabilities Act accessible. The site will also be used to test new improvements by the department, including deer fencing to prevent rabbits, rodents and other wildlife from damaging crops. The construction of the Community Garden is expected to be completed by September 2026.
