Etihad Airways eyeing Middle East airstrikes but optimistic for CLT launch

Etihad Airways is expected to launch a new route from Charlotte Douglas International Airport later this month, the longest flight route out of the country. The airline plans to fly in a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the first time it will serve Charlotte, and will operate four-hour flights from the United Arab Emirates capital city four times a week. The first flight is scheduled for Friday, March 20. However, Etihad had suspended all flights after the U.S. bombed Iran over the weekend, leading to retaliatory attacks in several Middle East countries.
