Jamf, the Apple device management platform, has released its Security 360: Annual Trends Report, which uses anonymized real-world data from over 1.4 million Macs across 90 countries with Jamf software installed. The report reveals that trojan malware, which accounted for 77.08% of all trojan activity, has increased over 33% since Jamf's 2024 outlook. The dominant trojan, Atomic Stealer (AMOS), was the dominant infostealer at 78.49%. The report also highlights several new Mac families discovered over the past year, including JXA-ostealers that use advanced anti-analysis hardware to evade detection and evade persistent persistence. Despite this, the report suggests that the malware economy is shifting more towards data theft over ad revenue.
