Scott Quigley, which was covered up for over two years. The scandal is now being investigated by multiple agencies, including the State Police and the Suffolk County DA. The Massachusetts Republican Party is responding to a report suggesting that it will charge media outlets $500 to attend and cover the 2026 MassGOP Convention. This would be a significant first for the party, which has faced severe fundraising issues recently. The Society of Professional Journalists has awarded Massachusetts its 2026 "Black Hole Award" for a lack of transparency in its public records law. The award is given each year during Sunshine Week.
