Ex-NYPD Officer Who Killed Man With Picnic Cooler Gets Prison Sentence

Former NYPD sergeant, Erik Duran, has been sentenced to three to nine years in prison for the death of 30-year-old Eric Duphend. The incident occurred during a "buy-and-bust" operation in the Bronx when Duphend was accused of selling drugs to an undercover officer. The police union had previously petitioned the judge to spare Duran.
