The NFL Draft's economic impact could significantly impact Pittsburgh's reputation as well as its businesses and local tax revenue. The draft is expected to attract 500,000–700,000 visitors across three days, with some expecting repeat visitors spending $125-$200 million on hotels, food, drink, Ubers and more. This will create an economic impact of $125–$200 million for the region. Additionally, the visibility generated from the draft will increase, and this could help drive long-term economic growth in Pittsburgh. The region is preparing for visitors and a global television audience of up to 50 million. However, the draft won't solve Pittsburgh's short-term financial problems, with hotel, sales and drink tax revenue expected to exceed $3 million and $4.5 million for county coffers.
