The Fox River is slowly receding, but the extent of this depends on where and how much rain falls. The National Weather Service predicts heavy rainfall is expected Monday into Tuesday, which could result in the "Fox River (climbing) back to near where it was this week" depending on where the heaviest part of the storms strike. In Elgin, the city has been largely unaffected compared to other communities along the Fox River, with McBride Street experiencing minor street-level flooding. Walton Island Park remained closed due to elevated river levels, but no significant impacts have been reported. The unincorporated Richardson subdivision off Dundee Avenue, just south of East Dundee, has experienced significant road flooding issues, with some residents parking outside barricades.
