John Harbaugh wants Dexter Lawrence with Giants but concedes unpredictable business factor

John Harbaugh, the new coach of the New York Giants, expressed optimism that Dexter Lawrence, a key player for the team, will be in or out of the team during the offseason workout program due to his desire for an increase in his contract with the team. Lawrence, who is currently averaging $21.8 million per year, has requested a trade request, which led to his request to be traded. Despite this uncertainty, Harbaugh remains hopeful that this issue will be resolved and Lawrence will continue to play for the Giants. The Giants, however, do not seem to be willing to pay big bucks to appease their disgruntled player. The team's four-year, $90 million contract was signed in May 2023 and they prefer Lawrence to play out the remaining two years on the deal.
