Trump's team game planning for potential Iran peace talks

The Trump administration is beginning discussions about potential peace talks with Iran after three weeks of war. The president has stated he is considering winding down the conflict, but expects there to be two to three additional weeks of fighting. The talks would include the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, addressing Iran's stockpile of highly enriched uranium, establishing a long-term agreement on Iran's nuclear program, ballistic missiles, and support for proxies in the region. Egypt, Qatar, and the U.K. have informed the US and Israel that Iran is interested in negotiating, but with very tough terms. The Iranian demands include a ceasefire, guarantees that the war will not resume in the future, and compensation. The U.S. is not interested in meeting Iran's demands for a ceasefire and reparations.
