Former wife of Gilgo Beach serial killer Rex Heuermann, Asa Ellerup, still lives in the same house where he murdered seven women and even sleeps in the "kill room." She revealed that she has redone their basement where he told her that he methodically murdered and dismembered victims before dumping their remains on a beach. Ellersup said she is haunted by the murders every night and has been sleeping in the room for about a month prior to Heuemann's confession. As a condition of pleading guilty, Heuermn was allowed to meet with his former wife and their daughter, Victoria, to confess to their crimes first before testifying in court. He is currently serving a life sentence without parole.
