Maul – Shadow Lord episode 8 of the show may have given us a new insight into the character Maul, the ex-Sith ex-sith, due to a series of visions Maul experiences that reference key events from his past. The visions, which began with Maul seeing a younger version of himself and his brother, Savage Opress, with Darth Sidious, also present. This vision provides an insight into Maul's training under Sidious's influence before The Phantom Menace, where he saw himself getting attacked by Obi-Wan Kenobi and was later found in a junkyard with robotic legs like a spider. Other references include a comic book story, Darth Maul – Son of Dathomir issue 2, which was adapted from an unused Clone Wars script before the show was cancelled. The comic series does not end with revenge with Maul and revenge with Grievous and Dooku.
