Three families are seeking support after eight children were killed in the Cedar Grove mass shooting in Shreveport, Louisiana. The shooter, Shamar Elkins, killed seven of his own children and their cousin, Mar’Kaydon Pugh, while shooting his wife Shaneiqua Elkins nine times. Elkins then transferred to another home where he shot Christina Snow, the mother of three of his children, who has since been released from the hospital with no place to stay and no financial support. The only assistance the family has received is from Martin Luther King Community Development Corporation President Irma Rogers, Commissioner Stormy Gage-Watts, and Director of Council Affairs RJ Johnson.
