Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is facing questions about his past donations to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a lobbying group that has been heavily criticized by many liberal Democrats. Pritzkers, a potential Democratic presidential candidate, is among several likely Democratic presidential candidates who have distanced themselves from AIPAC, which has become a U.S. political surrogate for Israel's actions in Gaza. The Pritzcher Family Foundation also donated to AipAC-affiliated and pro-Israel organizations when Pritzk was president and director of the charity. He has stated that he previously supported the group but abandoned it when it became more pro-Trump. Public surveys indicate that Democratic voters have soured on Israel in recent years due to its war in Gaza and regional conflicts.
