The third and final gubernatorial debate in California saw the issue of Hollywood's production crisis, affecting the largest industry in the state, which affects 50,000 jobs despite offering up to $750 million in annual production tax incentives. Only two of the seven candidates provided substantive answers about how they would address the issue. Katie Porter, a Democrat, did not specify whether she would push for an uncapping of the current $750m annual production credit, as she has yet to do. Other candidates included Antonio Villaraigosa, Steve Hilton, Xavier Becerra, and Tom Steyer, who has said he would remove the cap but not yet specified if it would be limited to below-the-line jobs.
