Hantavirus found in New Mexico isn't the same strain from cruise ship outbreak

The New Mexico Department of Health (NMDOH) has stated that a hantavirus strain found in New Mexico is different from that of which started spreading on a cruise ship. The strain, Sin Nombre, spreads through infected rodents and does not spread from person to person. NMDOH also suggested that cleaning out closed-up buildings and preventing rodent droppings from spreading.
