Much of Minnesota is expected to be hit by tropical storm-force winds ahead of a weekend storm that could bring a half-foot of snow or more to the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota. The National Weather Service has issued a high wind warning for central, south central, southwest and west central Minnesota, with sustained winds expected to reach between 30 and 40 mph and potentially gusts of up to 65 mph. A blizzard warning has been issued for counties adjacent to Lake Superior, where 7 to 15 inches of snow is expected.
