NASA has invited media accreditation for the next U.S. launch by SpaceX, the 34th SpaceX Commercial Resupply Services mission to the International Space Station, scheduled for May 12. The SpaceX Dragon spacecraft will be launched from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida on the Falcon 9 rocket. The application deadline for media accrediting is 11:59 p.m. EDT, Wednesday, April 29. The mission will deliver NASA science investigations, supplies, and equipment for the crew onboard the station, including a project to determine how well microgravity simulators mimic microgravity conditions, a bone scaffold made from wood that could produce new treatments for fragile bone conditions like osteoporosis, and a new instrument to monitor charged particles around the Earth that impact power grids and satellites. All accreditation requests must be submitted online.
