Trump signs order to help more people get retirement savings plans
Published on April 30, 2026.
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to help more people access to retirement plans. The order includes a new website where people can compare private-sector retirement savings accounts. The Saver’s Match, which comes from 2022 legislation, will offer a match of up to $1,000 for workers who make less than $35,000 a year starting in January. This move is intended to make the match available to roughly 50 million people who do not have retirement plans offered by their employers. The Treasury Department will also provide smaller matches for single filers.
