She explained this to Hoda Kotb at the HISTORYTalks in Philadelphia, Penn., that hugging releases certain chemicals in the body and causes hugs to release them. Nicole Kidman also shared that her approach to motherhood came from teachings from her own mom, Janelle Ann Kidman. She said that her mother convinced Nicole to stay in showbiz after she considered retiring from acting in 2008. Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian, and Kourtney Kardashian have also shared their thoughts on motherhood, with Khourtney stating that it changed her life when she became a mom.
