The Boys showrunner, Eric Kripke, has stated that he aims to be the most accurate inside-Hollywood show and include as many "obscure" inside jokes as possible. The fifth season of The Boys is also its final outing, with a body count rising in episode 1. However, Kripk acknowledges the pressure on fans to judge the show based on its finale.
