Matthew Lillard, the actor who landed the role of Negan on The Walking Dead, has revealed that he was offered the role for "10 minutes" before Jeffrey Dean Morgan accepted. Lillard revealed that after multiple callbacks, he was told he wouldn't be considered for the role. He only found out about the role during a chance meeting at San Diego Comic-Con. He explained that his take on Negan would have been markedly different to the character depicted in The Walking Walking Dead.
