Former Miami-based bank CEO agrees to forfeit over $16 million, pleads guilty in wire fraud case

Tomás Niembro, former CEO of Nodus International Bank in Miami, has pleaded guilty to federal charges and agreed to forfeit over $16 million as part of a plea agreement. Prosecutors allege that he used his position to siphon over $24 million and violate U.S. sanctions against Venezuela. His crimes undermined the integrity of the financial system and threatened economic prosperity. His sentencing is set to take place on June 8.
