Arizona is home to over 100 waterfalls, many of which are seasonal, and require permits to visit. Many of the state's most popular waterfalls are located on tribal lands and require hiking and high-clearance vehicles to access them. The Havasupai Reservation, home to three of the most iconic waterfalls in the state, Havasu Falls, Mooney Falls and Beaver Falls, requires a reservation permit from the tribe. Cibecue Falls is located on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and offers a secluded alternative to other popular Arizona destinations. Grand Falls, known for its muddy, tall waterfalls and vivid turquoise water, is often called “Chocolate Falls,” often referred to as a “chocolate Falls” by the Navajo Nation.
