The defense of Joshua Rivera, accused of killing 15-year-old Aiden Lutz, argues that the case against him violates the right to a fair, speedy trial. Nearly three years after Lutz's death, family and friends gathered in a Butler County courtroom to argue against dismissal of charges against Rivera. The defense argues that charges should be dropped as the case hasn't even made it to trial. Richard Goldinger, Butler County District Attorney, stated that many of the trial delays were out of the Commonwealth's control. All charges against suspect are still on the table, including murder in the third degree. Jury selection is set for September 16 and the trial is set to begin the following week.
