Nolan McLean played a key role in the Mets' 4-2 win over the Miami Marlins, despite not earning a decision. McLean managed two earned runs on six hits over six 1/3 innings and now has a 3.29 ERA on the season over 22 starts. This is the second time in two nights that one of the Mets’ young starters faced another talented starter, Christian Scott, and Chris Sale. Perez has been a key part of an upstart Marlins team, only 2.0 games out of a Wild Card spot in the National League. If the Mets manage to trade both Freddy Peralta and Clay Holmes at the deadline, a fourth rookie could be added to the team.
