Tuscaloosa Police Department Major Tommy Rester has been promoted to lead the department's Uniformed Services Division. The 67-year-old woman was identified after being struck and killed on Skyland Boulevard. The $4.3M Greensboro Avenue Improvement Project is set to begin next week as part of a multimillion-dollar effort to improve pedestrian safety in downtown Tuscaloos. The city's free outdoor concert series, Live at the Plaza, will return on May 1 with performances by Anthony Rosano & The Conqueroos and the Patrick Barnett Band.
