The White House and several Trump administration officials are criticizing CNN for its coverage of ongoing U.S. military operations in Iran and its broadcasting of statements from Iran's new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei. The White House accused the network of being run by the same regime that has murdered Americans for 47 years. The criticism comes amid increasing tensions between the cable news channel and allies of the president, with defense Secretary Pete Hegseth accusing CNN of underestimating the impact of the Iran war on the Strait of Hormuz.
