MSI is reportedly raising prices on its gaming hardware by 15-30% as a result of the ongoing memory crisis and increases in graphics card prices. The company's general manager, Huang Jinquing, stated that the price of a 16GB DDR5 DIMM from $40 last year to $200 today is expected to increase. To protect its profits, MSI will focus on more expensive, higher-margin hardware, sacrificing budget devices. This move aligns with industry projections, which have seen a general rise in PC prices of 20% and up to 40% as the memory, storage, and GPU sectors rush to supply more profitable data centers and sideline consumer hardware.
