Türkiye's Vice President, Cevdet Yılmaz, has stated that the country wants the Iran war to end as soon as possible and is working to restore diplomacy. He warned that the conflict could spread across the region and add to its human and economic costs. Yımaz also warned that energy markets were particularly exposed due to the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that Türkiya had made strong efforts to prevent the conflict before it erupted, including mediation attempts. He also noted that the government had moved to limit the inflationary effect of rising fuel prices, and that it had taken proactive steps to prevent such a problem.
