SiriusXM Beats Wall Street Expectations Amid Reported Talks of iHeartMedia Combination

SiriusXM reported a record-breaking 31.2 million paid subscribers in the first quarter, down 109,000 subscribers from the previous year, and about 33 million total subscribers. The company reported revenue of $2.09 billion, up 1 percent from the year ago, and net income of $245 million. Despite this, SiriusXM's churn remained a standout, with the lowest first-quarter level in SiriusXM history. Podcasting also performed well, with revenue growing 37% year-over-year and overall advertising revenue increasing by 5%. The company recently announced a partnership with YouTube to serve as the exclusive U.S. advertising representative for its audio inventory, which is expected to reach approximately 255 million monthly listeners.
