Man arrested, charged after brass plates stolen from TriMet MAX platforms, officials say

A 48-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the theft of large brass plates from several TriMet MAX stations along North Interstate Avenue. The thefts were reported between March 17 and March 19, 2026. TriMet Transit Police identified the suspect as Benjamin Mark Honl and located him in the 12700-block of Southwest Sixth Avenue in Beaverton on March 25. The sheriff's office stated that the thefts created safety risks and could damage equipment. The alleged thefts also resulted in property damage, financial losses, and operational impacts.
