Ronnie Maples, a fugitive wanted out of Texas for failing to register as a sex offender, was caught in Johnston County, Oklahoma, following a manhunt that involved a series of crimes. The search began when police were tipped off about a man possibly swinging a bat near Rock Creek, and a passerby witnessed a suspected carjacking. Maples was the focus of the search since Sunday, but was unable to be located at the time. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office spent nearly six hours searching for Maples in the woods but could not find him. He remains in custody at the Johnston County Jail and has a full extradition warrant from Texas.
