Israel Lawrence, a 20-year-old man convicted of robbery as a juvenile, has been charged with first degree residential robbery and assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury in a March 24 home invasion in Piedmont, California. The robbery was interrupted by another resident returning home and the suspects demanded money. The second suspect is still being sought. Lawrence, who has pleaded not guilty to the charges, is being held in lieu of $235,000 bail at Santa Rita Jail. He also faces a probation revocation hearing for a second prior felony conviction last year. The violent robbery was disrupted by an intruder who entered the home while asleep.
