Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum addressed a press conference following a school shooting in Michoacán, where a teenage boy allegedly killed two female teachers. Unlike other countries, school shootings are very rare in Mexico and Sheinba is determined to prevent them from increasing. She also reiterated her support for Michelle Bachelet's candidacy for the position of secretary general of the United Nations, despite losing the support of the Chilean government. The president stated that her government plans to expand a mental health program taught in some middle schools aimed at young people the same age as the alleged perpetrator of the crime.
