James Gadson, the drummer for Diana Ross, Bill Withers, and Marvin Gaye, has died at the age of 86. His discography includes sessions with Beck, Kelly Clarkson, and Leonard Cohen. Gadson had been dealing with health issues recently, including surgery and a fall that injured his back. He was known for his versatile and talented drummer skills. He mastered the four-on-the-floor disco beat for Jackson 5's "Dancing Machine" and Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive".
