State senator steps downs, says Georgia General Assembly ‘is where good ideas go to die’

State Senator Nabilah Parkes (D-Duluth) has announced her resignation from her position in the Georgia General Assembly, stating that she told Governor Brian Kemp that it would be her last day in the state Senate. Her resignation comes with just under three weeks left in the session of the General Assembly. Parkes criticised the Republican leadership at the state Capitol for allowing good ideas to die. There is no immediate timetable for the replacement of Parkes' seat.
