A three-versus-three basketball tournament was held in Chicago to combat exclusion for trans athletes in sports. The tournament, which included players of all genders and ages, was held ahead of the upcoming Chicago Olympics. This comes as trans people are further restricted out of athletics due to international sports bans. As of Thursday, transgender women athletes are banned from women's events at the Olympics, a policy that aligns with President Donald Trump's on sports. Despite this, Illinois has ignored an order from the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) allowing its trans high school athletes.
