James Earl Johnson, a Houston man, has been accused of imprisoning his 46-year-old wife, who is disabled, in their Clear Lake home for five years. His wife called 911 after he left his phone on the nightstand and he allegedly slapped his wife and carried her back to bed before hanging up the call. Johnson was arrested on March 6 and charged with injury to a disabled person and abandoning a disabledperson. He was later released on a bond of $100,000. The wife had reportedly contacted the police about Johnson on Nov. 16, 2025.
