Two children in the Tri-state drowned in ponds after they were reported missing. The "Joshua Alert" bill, currently being pushed through the Ohio House, aims to immediately mobilize public and first responders when a child with autism or a developmental disability goes missing. Currently, there is no dedicated system in Ohio to quickly mobilize the public. The bill, named after a boy who drowned in a West Chester pond, still requires approval from the Ohio Senate and governor's signature before becoming law.
