Ohio mom finds support after teen son’s mental health crisis in new community

Rochelle Montes, a mother of a teenage son, Deklan, experienced a crisis when her son experienced a mental health crisis while living in a new community in Ohio. She found support through Ohio's Mobile Response Stabilization Services (MRSS), a free service that provides immediate help for youth 20 and under who are experiencing overwhelming mental, emotional or behavioral distress. The service also provides follow-up care, connecting families to therapy, support programs and longer-term resources. This crisis was a turning point for the family, with Deklan graduating from high school and now attending the University of Cincinnati.
