Abdul Carter Named Among NFL's Best Young Edge Defenders by NFL

Abdul Carter, a 22-year-old New York Giant, has been named among the NFL's Best Young Edge Defenders by NFL. According to Nick Shook of NFL.com, Carter was one of the two edge defenders named by Shook, while Pittsburgh Steelers defender Nick Herbig took the other spot. Carter's debut season was disappointing, with only four sacks and 43 total tackles in 843 defensive snaps. However, advanced stats show a promising future, including a 20.9% on true pass sets, the highest of any rookie with at least 200 pass-rushing snaps. Carter is off to a strong start for the Giants this summer, showing an ability to disrupt the offensive backfield.
