The US Treasury Department has relaxed restrictions on doing business with Venezuelan banks and individuals, following years of sanctions imposed during the country's socialist regime. Financial transactions will be permitted with Venezuela's central bank, which was sanctioned in April 2019, and three other state-owned banks. The move comes after the U.S. Treasury issued a general license allowing for transactions.
