USC has launched an "Institute For Actor-Driven Innovation" for actors, aiming to give them a chance to benefit from the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) rather than lose it. The institute will be run by Tomm Polos, who also serves as a chair at USC in “creator arts.” and also moonlights as the hype man for the Dodgers. While some artists have expressed skepticism about AI on both labor and craft grounds, others in charge of creative organizations have generally welcomed it.
