The Changebaker Place, a new café by local activist and entrepreneur Manuel Betancur, has opened in east Charlotte. The café, which shares its name with a 16-minute documentary about his life and advocacy, expands his portfolio of community-focused businesses in Charlotte. It features pastries, gelato, sandwiches, and coffee drinks made with Colombian beans. The space also features furniture from a Charlotte woman who self-deported to Colombia.
