Telegram groups and WhatsApp bots often beat official systems in the wake of missile attacks, circulating sensitive real-time information from municipal emergency rooms and local authorities. These systems often outpace Home Front Command alerts due to access to civilian command-and-control systems connected directly to radar-based data. Developer Liron Bar, who developed the Tzeva Adom (Red Alert) app, explained the mechanism that allows bots to act faster than the official system. The secret lies in a system called Shu’al Ezrahi (Civilian Fox), a command-based platform developed by Home Front command and now installed in many municipalities and major organizations across Israel. While these bots and groups often report missile launches well before the sirens are activated, Bar warns that early information can cause unnecessary anxiety and may lead to partial or inaccurate information reaching the public. He also warns against relying on outside apps, citing the potential for a distorted or inaccurate impact on the situation.
